Photograph of the interior of the second location of Annunciation Chapel, in Saint Mary Hall. Back: Community Chapel until present Annunciation Chapel was built. In fact, when I was a postulant, fall, 1919, they started having mass here again to save fuel but when Mother M. Berchmans (then Mother General) returned from the West she said, we would use Annunciation Chapel and from then on we did. This room was converted into a community room in 1920, a college dining room in 1930. After the new Saint Joseph Dining Hall was opened in April, 1963 this room was used for orchestra practice, audio-visual purposes and became a multipurpose room. Sister Agnes Vincent Chapel of the Annunciation in the 1894 addition (insert between 1920 and 1930). In 1923 the two story Chapel was prepared for the Junior College students. The 3rd floor was a dormitory (Isadore Hall), the main floor was divided into two classrooms, a study hall and a recreation room. The main floor was transformed into a dining room when Berchmans Hall was completed in 1930. |
